Namwan was the third elephant we rescued and brought to our elephant home. She was working at the same elephant sanctuary as our elephant Yui, performing in the now, thankfully old fashioned style of shows to welcome tourists. She had to perform many types of poses for hours on end so people could have their photograph taken with her.

Namwan has a really charming yet calm character. She adores the people who take care her. From her previous work in the elephant show she has the most beautiful way of saying hello to guests. This isn’t the type of training we would encourage at our elephant home and since she moved here with us she has been trained in a much better way and we have seen her mood change for the best not having to constantly perform poses. Her famous ‘hello’, well we can’t un-train everything.
